The Rain Wins!

The third round of the French 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in Longvic, France this weekend. Sunday started out nice and sunny but after the semifinals heavy rain started to fall, leaving the organizers no choice but to cancel the A-main. This left TLR team driver Reno Savoya with the win. Reno has now scored two wins in the National Championship this year.




First First for Baruffolo!

This past weekend the second round of Italian Buggy Championship was held on the beautiful Dirt Race RC track located in North-West Italy. Due to bad weather conditions predicted for Sunday, all the finals were raced on Saturday. When everything was said and done, it was TLR team driver Marco Baruffolo taking his first ever victory in the Italian Championship after a convincing win with his TLR teammate Alex Zanchettin finishing third.

Nevada Champ!

TLR team driver Roco Epler made his mark at the 2016 Nevada State Championships at RC Tracks of Las Vegas. Epler drove his 22 3.0 to the second spot on the grid of Mod Buggy. In the main event, Epler finished a hard fought third place overall. In 17.5 Buggy, Epler put his 22 3.0 in the top TQ spot on the grid for the main event. When the tone sounded, it was Epler leading wire to wire taking the overall win and the Championship.











Shootout Double!

TARCAR hosted their Nitro vs Electric Shoutout this past weekend. TLR team drivers Dakotah Phend and Spencer Heckert were in attendance. Phend would cruise to the win in Nitro Buggy with his 8IGHT 4.0 with Heckert taking third. In Nitro Truggy it was much the same with Phend driving his 8IGHT-T 4.0 to the overall win and Heckert taking the runner up spot right behind Phend.





Double Down!

This past weekend TLR team driver Collin Weatherholt made the trek to the Ohio RC Factory for the first round of the Monsters of the Midwest Series. Weatherholt laid it down in qualifying in Nitro buggy with his 8IGHT 4.0 taking the TQ. In the E-Buggy division, he drove his 8IGHT-E 4.0 to the second spot on the grid. To redeem his qualifying spot in the main, Weatherholt drove a flawless race in E-Buggy and took the win. In Nitro Buggy, he put on a clinic leading wire to wire in the thirty minute main and pulled off a double for the weekend.

Root On Top!

Over 235 entries attended the fifth annual JConcepts Stock Nationals at OCRC Raceway in Huntington Beach, CA. Eleven different classes were recognized, with Expert, Sportsman and Novice divisions separating racers of different skill levels. The OCRC crew created a layout specifically to challenge the under-powered racers and reward those who could wring out every last rpm from their 17.5 motors.


TLR’s Frank Root drove his 22T to a very convincing win in the Expert Stock Truck division. 


TLR Cup Runneth Over!

The Noeux les Mines in France played host to the 2016 TLR Cup over the weekend. The event attracted a good amount of national drivers and also guest from the US such as TLR’s Ryan Maifield and Dakotah Phend to battle against Europe’s fastest TLR drivers.

In Pro Nitro Buggy qualifing, Ryan Maifield grabbed the TQ from Renaud Savoya while Marco Baruffolo rounded out the top three. In Nitro Truggy, Jerome Sartel put down the fastest run ahead of Matt Lewis and Vincent Berthelot. In 1/8th E-Buggy, Dakotah Phend took the TQ over Jean-Pierrick Sartel and Ryan Maifield.

In the Nitro Buggy A-mains, the format was two twenty minute legs, Maifield held the upper hand over Savoya even though both won a leg. The better tie-breaker handed Maifield the overall win. Savoya settled for second while Jean-Pierrick Sartel completed the top three.


In the Nitro Truggy class Sartel finished on top with Schlafmunter on the runner-up spot and Lewis in third. In the 1/8th E-Buggy class it was Monteiro who took the  win over Savoya in second and Phend in third.





Tanner Takes It!

The second round of the JBRL Nitro Series was held at Thunder Alley R/C Raceway this past weekend. TLR’s Tanner Denney drove his 8IGHT-E 4.0 to a convincing win in the 1/8th E-Buggy class.



Weatherholt Takes It At  Speed-Line!

This past weekend Collin Weatherholt headed down to Clarksville, TN for the Ohio Valley Championships at Speed-Line Raceway. Weatherholt proceeded to TQ E-Buggy with his 8IGHT-E 4.0 but ran into some bad luck in his Main. In Nitro Buggy it was the opposite as Weatherholt struggled in qualifying but laid it down in the A main with his 8IGHT 4.0 and won by over ten seconds!

Double Up at The Factory!

 This past weekend, TLR team driver Collin Weatherholt headed over to The Ohio RC Factory for the first round of the OEOSS. Weatherholt drove his 8IGHT 4.0 and 8IGHT-E 4.0 to the TQ position in both classes along with taking convincing wins in both classes.



Nice Day At The Beach!

Max Flurer made his way down to Beach RC in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina this past weekend for the second round of the Scotty Ernst Off-Road Showdown. Flurer took the TQ and win in Mod Truck with his 22T. Flurer continued his winning ways by taking the win in Mod 2WD Buggy with his 22 3.0 and followed it up with a second place in Mod 4WD Buggy with his 22-4.

The TLR Judge!

The “JConcepts Judge” was held at GS Hobby in Fort Smith, Arkansas this past weekend. This event marked the fourth anniversary of the event and had the largest turnout yet! TLR team driver JR Mitch was in attendance and took the overall TQ and wins in both Mod 4WD and Mod 2WD Buggy running his 22-4 and 22 3.0 with a lay down conversion. TLR continued their winning ways with Craig Avis winning Sportsman 2WD with his 22 3.0 and GS Hobby owner Bryon Shumate winning Mod Truck with his 22T 2.0
