Mitch Gets Extreme On The Carpet!

The Extreme Carpet Initiative was held at Extreme RC raceway in Spring Hill, TN. This awesome carpet track is setup a couple of times a month for racers all over the area to have a place to race. This year’s layout saw a mix of singles, doubles, corner jumps and even a wall ride.

After an epic battle, TLR’s JR Mitch drove his 22-4 from the second starting spot on the grid to the top step on the podium taking the win in the Modified 4WD class. In the 2WD Modified class, it was a reversal of fortune, as Mitch’s 22 3.0 started in the TQ spot on the grid but finished on the second step of the podium for second overall. Proof again, TLR can win on any surface.

Maifield Strikes Gold at Silver State!

The venue may have changed, but the conditions were just as challenging, as this year’s Silver State took place at RC Tracks of Las Vegas, the site of the 2016 IFMAR World championships. Gone were the enormous sized pot holes and blown out track, but in its placed was smooth, seal-coated clay. The conditions proved tricky for everyone, but TLR’s Ryan Maifield came out swinging in  the Pro Nitro Buggy A Main with his 8IGHT 4.0 taking the win and once again proving the 8IGHT 4.0 can win on any track conditions.

TLR Rocks the Cactus!

The 30th Annual Cactus Classic race was held this past weekend at Hobbytown/SRS in Phoenix, Arizona and TLR’s Dakotah Phend scored two more impressive wins! Phend was the man to beat in modified 4WD Buggy with his TLR 22-4 as he set the TQ and went on to win A1 and A3 for the overall title! Phend continued his dominance in the 4WD Short Course class by driving his SCTE 2.0 to the TQ and then taking the overall win. To cap off a great weekend, Phend also drove his 22 3.0 to the second step on the podium in the Mod 2WD Buggy class.

In the Stock division, it was TLR’s Chris Wheeler driving his 22 3.0 to a very impressive TQ. Wheeler, who calls SRS his home track, was not about to let anyone come into his house and show him how it’s done as he went on to take the overall win in the Stock Buggy class.

Having an odd off weekend, Ryan Maifield took third in the Mod 2wd Short Course class. Also with an impressive run, TLR’s David Jensen took second place in the 4WD Short Course class.
