Team Losi Racing L8IGHT Model Hot at The Chili Bowl

Losi driver Doug Gaut takes first place at the 2009 Chili Bowl with the Team Losi Racing L8IGHT Model Race Roller.
The new Team Losi Racing L8IGHT Model, nitro late model oval race roller, debuted with a bang at the 2009 Chili Bowl Jr. in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This mid-winter RC race is run in conjunction with the largest and most prestigious full-scale oval race and drew almost 200 RC entries from around the country.
Although the L8IGHT Model was released only a month ago there were many new owners and eager racers waiting to see it in action. The L8IGHT Model did not disappoint as Lars Johnson from Colorado led the pack from the start of practice until the main event. Lars and fellow L8IGHT Model drivers Lee Morrison, Doug Gaut, and Jeff Harper consistently turned the fastest lap times during practice in the largest class at this event. Lars, who was using Spektrum’s DX3R radio, continued with this pace throughout qualifying taking the top qualifying spot.
The A-Main saw 6 of the 8 finalists driving the Team Losi Racing L8IGHT Model. Although Lars jumped out to the lead with blistering lap times that were the quickest of the weekend, his fellow L8IGHT Model drivers were right behind putting on a great show for the crowd. Unfortunately Lars experienced a issue which allowed fellow Losi drivers Lee Morrison and Doug Gaut to battle for the win. Doug came back from a tangle to take the win – the first for the production L8IGHT Model Race Roller.
Congratulations go out to the organizers for a great event the all the racers for putting on an exceptional show.
