Axial West Coast Challenge Championship Series

For the past few years, The Axial West Coast Challenge has been one of the biggest annual RC Rock Crawling events. This year drivers will have to compete at various qualifier events with only 75 of the best drivers getting an invite to the event. This past weekend the first round of qualifying was held at Lake Wolford, in Southern California and drew a large crowd of competitors.

In an effort to “level” the playing field, the 2.2 class was split into two classes by having an “MOA” (motor on axle) and a “Shafty” (shaft driven) class with separate winners as well as an overall winner.

Well Losi driver Jake Wright proved that theory all wrong by not only winning the shafty class, but also taking the overall win by 15 points. In fact five of the top ten overall were Team Losi Racing Comp Crawlers. Jake also dispelled the theory that bigger tires are better by using the superior traction of Losi Comp Claws which help keep the center of gravity lower. Jake also equipped his winning Comp Crawler with an Xcelorin Sensored 21.5 Brushless Crawler system and a Losi 11.1V 3S LiPo Crawler pack.

Congratulations to Jake for an outstanding finish!

Team Losi Racing Sweeps the 2010 Chili Bowl Jr.

Team Losi Racing burned up the track at the 2010 Chili Bowl Jr. dirt oval race, run in conjunction with the 24th Annual Chili Bowl which is the biggest Midget race in the world. With over 220 entries the Dirt Late Model class was the largest with 70 entries including many of the fastest racers in the country. The Team Losi Racing L8IGHT Model was used by different drivers to Top Qualify each of the three qualifying rounds.

The A-Main saw 9 of the 10 finalists driving the L8IGHT Model. L8IGHT Model drivers Gary Guffey (TX), Jason Hudson(IN), and Matt Murphy(CA) made it a 1-2-3 Losi sweep to finish off the week long race event. In addition to the great drive by the Texan, Gary Guffey, was the drive by Matt Murphy who raced his way into the A-Main getting a third place finish after bumping up from the C and B mains by finishing at the front. Matt used a Losi 350 Engine, as used in the Losi RTR’s.

Congratulations go out to all the racers as well as the organizers for putting on a great show for the overflow crowd.
