Van Helmond Does It Again!

Wesley Van Helmond has done it again! After taking the Dutch National Championship in the hotly contested 1/10 2wd Modified Buggy class with his 22 3.0, Van Helmond has taken another National championship…this time in the 1/8 Nitro buggy class. Going into the final, Van Helmond needed a fifth place finish or better to secure the title. To make sure there were no doubts of who the champion should be, Van Helmond drove his 8IGHT 4.0 to a convincing win making it five races and five wins!

Dutch Dominance!

TLR’s worldwide winning way continues to roll on! This time around its TLR team driver Wesley Van Helmond driving his 22 3.0 to the Dutch National Championship. Van Helmond had the title wrapped up before the A main started, but he wanted to prove he was the undeniable champion so he went out and crushed the competition.

TLR Takes Austrian Champs!

Sometimes it sounds like a broken record, but when TLR products turn in dominating performances worldwide, we just have to brag about them. This time around, it’s our Austrian TLR team drivers making the statement in dominating fashion by taking three Austrian National Championships! Congrats guys!

2016 Champion 40 +: Wolfgang Heusel / TLR 8IGHT 4.0

French Nats Sweep!

TLR is no stranger to race wins and titles around the world, but it is even more impressive when TLR can sweep the podium! This past weekend concluded the French National Championship Series as the 8IGHT 4.0 proved its performance once again. Taking the overall Championship was the amazingly smooth Renaud Savoya. Taking the next spot on the overall podium was Jean Pierrick Sartel and taking the last spot on the podium and completing the clean sweep was Jerome Sartel. Hmm…with the IFMAR Worlds coming up soon in Las Vegas, the TLR boys are looking like they are ready to take the title!

Come main time, Stephansen took the lead on the opening lap and never looked back taking a convincing win.

Double TQ!

LCRC Raceway in Oakland Mills, PA hosted a ROAR Region 2 Series Event this past weekend. TLR team driver Jason Schreffler had a stellar race by driving his 8IGHT 4.0 to an impressive TQ and win in the Pro Buggy class. Schreffler’s TLR teammate Anthony Mazzarra put his 8IGHT 4.0 on the podium as well in third place.

In Pro Truggy, Schreffler took the TQ with his 8IGHT-T and had an epic battle, but came up just short with a second place finish. In Pro E-Buggy it was teammate Mazzarra driving his 8IGHT-E 4.0 to the second step on the podium.

TQ Hat Trick!

TLR team driver David Jenson attended the 5th round of the JBRL series at Rainman's Hobby and Raceway in Bakersfield, California. Jenson took the TQ and win in the 1/8 E-Buggy class with his Orion powered 8IGHT-E 4.0. Jenson also went on to take the TQ and win in the Mod 4wd Short Course class with his TEN SCTE 2.0. Jenson rounded out the weekend with a TQ in the ultra-competitive Mod 4WD Buggy class, but a slight problem in the man denied him of a “hat trick” for the weekend.

Monster Win!

The 3rd round of the “Monster of the Midwest Series” was held at The Ohio RC Factory. TLR team driver JP Richards driving his 8IGHT 4.0 was able to set the TQ in a rather stacked field of drivers. Once the A main started, Richards took advantage of his pole position and never looked back, taking an impressive win by two laps over the field.

Minnesota State Champ!

This weekend the Minnesota Off-Road State Championships was held at Jay’s RC Park in Starbuck, MN. TLR team driver Hunter Holmberg was out to prove how dominant the new TLR cars perform. After taking the TQ in Mod 2WD with his 22 3.0 and the TQ in Mod 4WD with his 22-4 2.0, his point was made but not complete. After winning the first two A Mains in both classes…mission accomplished…taking two State Championship titles!

TLR Sweeps the Podium!

Round four of the French Nitro Off-road Nationals was held this past weekend at the CARCA track near Noeux les Mines. TLR’s Reno Savoya was the driver to beat taking the first four qualifying rounds with his TLR teammate Jean-Pierrick Sartel right behind him. In the 45 minute A-main, Savoya put on a clinic and lead the entire race with his TLR teammates Thomas Musso, Jean-Pierrick Sarteland and Jerome Sartel rounding out an all TLR top four finish.

Contest...No Contest!

The 2016 Bittydesign Euro Contest took place in Barco, Italy this past weekend. As one of the flashiest and entertaining races overseas, TLR wanted to leave their mark and that’s just what they did. TLR team driver Marco Baruffolo stood on the top spot of the podium with his 8IGHT 4.0 and his teammate Alex Zanchettin taking the third step on the podium.

Dominant (adjective  dom·i·nant \-nənt\)
a :  commanding, controlling, or prevailing over all others
b :  very important, powerful, or successful

There is no other word to describe TLR’s Ryan Maifield at this year’s ROAR Nationals. TQing 7 out of 8 rounds, driving his 8IGHT 4.0 from the back of the pack after bad luck at the start and just missing the win by a seventh of a second, to taking a purely amazing wire to wire win with his 8IGHT-T 4.0! It’s no wonder Maifield is considered one of the best drivers in the entire world! Congratulations Ryan.

Atondo Works It!

Amain Hobbies held their annual SWorks Challenge this past weekend. TLR team driver Phillip Atondo drove his 8IGHT-T 4.0 flawlessly taking the TQ and the win in the Nitro Truggy class. Atondo had some bad luck in the Buggy main, but came away with the TQ Dash for Cash!

The King...Squared!

This past weekend Stateline Raceway held their annual King of Kings Race which attracts top drivers from all over the Midwest. It looked to be a great weekend, but Mother Nature had other plans. TLR team driver Collin Weatherholt laid down the TQ in E-Buggy with his 8IGHT-E 4.0. Half way through nitro qualifying, the skies opened up and Weatherholt was stuck in the last heat but still managed to put his 8IGHT 4.0 into the A main. After a slight rain delay on Sunday morning, Weatherholt laid the smack down and took convincing wins in both E-Buggy and Nitro Buggy pulling off a double at the Kings of Kings!

The Rain Wins!

The third round of the French 1/8th Off-road Nationals was held in Longvic, France this weekend. Sunday started out nice and sunny but after the semifinals heavy rain started to fall, leaving the organizers no choice but to cancel the A-main. This left TLR team driver Reno Savoya with the win. Reno has now scored two wins in the National Championship this year.

First First for Baruffolo!

This past weekend the second round of Italian Buggy Championship was held on the beautiful Dirt Race RC track located in North-West Italy. Due to bad weather conditions predicted for Sunday, all the finals were raced on Saturday. When everything was said and done, it was TLR team driver Marco Baruffolo taking his first ever victory in the Italian Championship after a convincing win with his TLR teammate Alex Zanchettin finishing third.

Nevada Champ!

TLR team driver Roco Epler made his mark at the 2016 Nevada State Championships at RC Tracks of Las Vegas. Epler drove his 22 3.0 to the second spot on the grid of Mod Buggy. In the main event, Epler finished a hard fought third place overall. In 17.5 Buggy, Epler put his 22 3.0 in the top TQ spot on the grid for the main event. When the tone sounded, it was Epler leading wire to wire taking the overall win and the Championship.
