The 2013 Gas Championships were held this past weekend at Thunder Alley Raceway in Beaumont CA. The weather was perfect and Levi Jackson built another great layout.  Jimmy Babcock was the race director and kept the sold out program running smooth.

The Gas Champs is a unique race that runs a heads up racing format for both qualifying and the finals.  Each driver had 1 round of practice on Saturday morning, followed by three rounds of qualifying and double A Mains on Sunday.  Team Losi Racing and Pro-Line were two of the major event sponsors.  Team Losi Racing provided a TLR 8ight 3.0 buggy as a raffle prize.  Pro-Line provided each participant a set of Pro-Line M3 Holeshot tires for buggy and M3 Blockade tires for truggy.

Adam Drake had a great weekend as the top qualifier and winner in 1/8th Expert Buggy and 1/8th Expert Truck.  Drake used the following products to take the victories at this great event:

Mike Garrison wins Summer Shootout.

As the summer months are winding down, this past weekend held the annual "Summer Shootout" event at the R/C Race Barn in Jefferson City, Missouri. The event drew a considerable crowd to the spacious indoor offroad facility, with great racing in all classes. Team Losi Racing driver, Mike Garrison, made the journey with his TLR SCTE 2.0 to compete in the Expert 4wd SCT class.
Qualifying included three 5-minute rounds, using "rocket round" scoring. The track was dry and slippery by the time the 4wd SCT classes hit the track, but the smooth power of Novak's Pulse ESC/Ballistic 4.5 motor and grippy JConcepts Green Barcode tires had the TLR machine of Garrison working great.

Mike would go on to take the TQ spot in qualifying, and using the new Venom 5800mAh LiPo pack, he would go on to win the extended Expert 4wd SCT A-Main, leading start to finish!

Mike would like to thank all of his sponsors: TLR, Horizon Hobby, JConcepts, Novak, Spektrum,Venom, MIP, Avid R/C, StickIt1 Racing, OGIO, and LiveRC.
